Title: England
Post by: ^_^ on Jun 29, 2009, 01:25: AM
We all know England did great in 66. Congrats.

But now, Let us all remember and celebrate the major tournaments that England, the United States, and Honduras have won in our own lifetime

The EPL, as you so fantastically call it, is the best league in the world still standard wise.

England is simply overrated so is the EPL

The EPL, as you so fantastically call it, is the best league in the world still standard wise.
EPL is the most internationally varied league and the best teams rarely have a top English player (in comparison to other league where majority are home grown)
So lets not hold the EPLs accomplishment in the name of the nation team
If anything it should be call International Premier League
I don't want to start naming names and i'm sure you have little names to name
So best we end shit here

First of all, can people on this forum actually read and understand sentences and statements? Moby said England is overrated, so is the "EPL". That is why the Premier League argument started, Tit. Not once in this thread have a spoke about the relationship between the national team and the Premier League.

Second, you say that the top teams rarely have a top English player. Man U- Rooney, Ferdinand, Liverpool- Gerrard, Chelsea- Terry, Lampard, A.Cole, J.Cole.......In conclusion tit face, you are an absolute chin head who knows nothing...bye.

In other words - the top English teams BEST players are never English.

Man United - Ronaldo (as we havn't seen United without him, we don't know who their best player will be. let's see if Rooney can produce without him)
Chelsea - Drogba or Essien (not Lampard/Terry, sorry)
Liverpool - Fernando Torres
Arsenal - well, they don't have English players
Man City - Tevez/Robinho
Tottenham - Palacios (HONDURAN!)

the list goes on and on....

no one is saying there aren't good english players/ it's just that they are overshadowed by foreigners in their own league

Exactly
Also England's record speaks for it's self as once again ^_^ has stated earlier

So quit with the person attacks will definately was your strongest argument

Now lets see the Spanish league

Barca: XAVI, INIESTA, PUYOL etc
Real: CASILLAS, RAUL, SERGIO RAMOS etc
Valencia: DAVID VILLA, DAVID SILVA, Juan MATA etc
Villarreal: SENNA, CAZORLA, CAPDEVILA etc

Again people are writing statements and not understanding themselves what they have written. Some geezer, can't remember who it was, said the best teams rarely have top English players. I proved this to be incorrect.

Englands record speaks for itself? Yes, a good record. World Cup winners, semi finalists, quater finalists numerous times, Euro Champ semi finalists and quater finalsists numerous times. Better than many countries records. Why are most people on this board normally wrong? I don't understand how people are so wrong about everything in football...

Rarely as in majority aren't English unlike other leagues where teams depend on youth academies and home grown players.

You dwell to deep into the past for those records
The current squad can't keep up with the Spains, Italys and Brazils due to the fact that their league doesn't produce enough home grow talent

What? We just made the U21 Final. All of Englands squad play in England. Gerrard, Terry, Lampard, Ferdinand, Cole and Cole...all perform very well in the Champions League. This argument has nothing to do with Spain and Brazil etc. Whenever you guys make statements that I prove false, you come up with another that is slightly related but completely differrent which is also wrong. Go on bring up something else about England...keep them coming, keep changing your argument all the time.

Ok lets look at some of the young talented spanish players produced in the last 5 years (up to the age of 22 or 23)
Fabregas
David Silva
Juan Mata
Bojan
Jesus Navas
Gerard Pique
Sergio Ramos
Busquets
Diego Capel....

Can you name me any English players of this calibre who are 22 or 23 years old?
Ok, theres Rooney, and who else?
Walcott? Nowhere near as good as someone like David Silva
Micah Richards? Ill take Sergio Ramos thank you very much....
for fucks sake, Leroy Lita starts for England U-21's

We didn't win it, no. We did beat Spain rather comfortably though who apparently are the yard stick for you sad gits. Lita does not start for our U21's, that was 2 years ago, sad Dan. When have I mentioned that I think we have fantastic talent coming through anyway? I have never claimed this. Informing you that we made the U21 final was putting a point forward that we must put some home grown talent through our leagues, right? It is literally impossible to talk to some of you about football. How can you not see that you make a statement, are proved wrong, and then go onto another and the pattern continues. Someone made the statement that the top English players don't play for the best English teams...I cannot believe someone that says they watch football could make this statement. Thats how this argument started, if I remember correctly and since then some of you have tried to bring up other things which again you are proved wrong about.

i like you for posting this

the english league is very good, but the english talent in the league is few and far between. manutd are the only big team with many english players. chelsea and liverpool only have 3 important ones, and arsenal basically has theo walcott.  england has a good national team, but they are definitely outsiders to ever win another major tournament.  current teams england is far better than usa, but we are more than good enough to beat them on the right day.  kingnut, you seem to act as if everything english is better than everthing else in football. england didn't even start doing well in CL until liverpool won in 2005. before that only utd's win in 99, and you have to go way back for another english team to win. if you were from brasil or italy, i would understand you bragging about being far superior. in the past 10yrs both those countries have been far better than england and win major tropies in both club and international.  smiley guy, keep repping the usa. its good that someone else supports their country.
Title: Re: England
Post by: ^_^ on Aug 23, 2009, 06:51: AM
i support my country because it's quite easy to see that it's only a matter of time before the USA will be a force in the sport. i don't know why it's hard to see this

i understand that England has some sort of natural hatred for the sport growing in our country because thier talent is on the decline (really), but i don't understand why it's so hard to just admit that the sport is growing here.

just admit it, kingnut. you're a fucking child.
