I guess all the arguments we've been having around here about the quality of the Premiership can now be laid to rest. It's quite obvious that England has some of the best teams and players, if not the best.

Fool Fenerbahce is Turkish not Greek. You don't realize how upset you've made me right now. Edit that post immediately.

Its not about how many teams make the quarter finals its about those English teams being able to go all the way. We are laying nothing to rest. If anything its just begun.

Why do you think I wrote the separate countries like that? ;) To help prove my point.

Heh, silly..

These are the statistics that will prove is England is indeed the best league as of late :bs::

06/07 - AC Milan
05/06 - Barcelona
04/05 - Liverpool
03/04 - FC Porto
02/03 - AC Milan
01/02 - Real Madrid
00/01 - Bayern Munich
99/00 - Real Madrid
98/99 - Mancester United

I could keep on going but an English team didn't win it until 1983

So judging by these statistics, England is not the best league as of late. I do not see how it could be. Liverpool got lucky to even win in 2005.

So we should apply the same ideal to the FA Cup right now: How many Prem teams are left? 1. How many lower league teams? 3. The Championship is the best league in England!!

Chelsea vs Fenerbache
Manchester United vs Roma :dontknow:
Barcalona vs Shalke
Arsenal vs Liverpool :boxing:

This is a tough test for Arsenal, we all know how strong Liverpool are in the CL. Looks like Manchester, Barcalona, and Chelsea have really drawn tough ones

Roma again? This should be fun, can't wait to see what the fans will do.

Chelsea always gets .. well, I won't start on that.

Barca should dominate.

Arsenal is put up to the test once again, going through the Champs and now the runner up.

We know that England was not a very strong league back in the days. Those stats consider the last 10 years. Nowadays, England appears to be the most competitive in the Champions League. Almost always they are the team with the most teams in the last few rounds. I know they may not always win it, but you need some luck to get all the way to the top. I think England's done the best when it comes to bringing the most teams through the competition.

Quarter Final Match-ups:

Roma - Man. United
Schalke - Barcelona
Fenerbahçe - Chelsea
Arsenal - Liverpool

I think Arsenal and Man U will move on. Barcelona and Chelsea will win in extra time or penalties. It won't be easy... that's for damn sure, especially the Barcelona - Schalke game.
